What is LayerZero?
LayerZero is crypto’s interoperability protocol, seamlessly connecting apps and tokens across every blockchain.
At its core, LayerZero is a messaging protocol. It connects blockchains by allowing smart contracts on different chains to communicate directly. This lets developers build unified applications and tokens that span many ecosystems — without bridges, wrapping, or centralized trust assumptions.
- Immutable endpoints: Every supported chain has a LayerZero endpoint — a smart contract that cannot be changed or upgraded.
- Configurable security: Developers choose how the application’s messages are verified. Options include oracles, zk light clients, native bridges, or their own decentralized verifier networks (DVNs).
- Universal semantics: Applications and tokens built on LayerZero behave identically on every chain – EVM, non EVM, public, and private. This enables consistent user experiences, unified liquidity, and streamlined development.
- 500+ applications deployed
- 340+ tokens live using OFT and ONFT standards
- Used by industry leaders including: PayPal USD (PYUSD), Ondo Finance (USDY), Ethena (USDe), Wrapped Bitcoin (BitGo), Google Cloud (as an active verifier), the State of Wyoming, Fireblocks, and more.
- Tracks cross-chain data packets (e.g., smart contract calls, governance votes).
- Fields: Source/destination chains, application addresses, message status, gas costs, DVN configurations.
- Logs token movements via OFT/ONFT standards.
- Metrics: Unified liquidity flows, bridge efficiency, adapter usage

The Chains: Where Interoperability Lives
LayerZero supports 132+ chains, from Ethereum to Bitcoin L2s, including: Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Solana, TON, Aptos, and more.
"If you look at application deployments, stablecoin issuance, and institutional adoption, interop isn’t the exception anymore, it ’s the rule." Bryan Pellegrino, Co-Founder & CEO, LayerZero Labs
